I think the most important thing for designers and developers is to understand what's feasible.There are several factors to consider but number one is the deadline. No matter how fancy or aesthetically beautiful the designs are, if they don't reach the client at the correct time, it's of no use.Second thing is the ease of the user. If we can make it easy for the user to use without giving up on performance.Then there our work has been done. We have served our purpose.

Get a basic knowledge of niches you're working with. You'll want to be able to speak the same language to improve happiness and avoid miscommunication and ultimately frustration and delays. Also, no web developer want's to work with a designer creating outrageous designs that look good but are impossible to create. If you design it, you should know it's doable. If you're unsure - ask. If you're starting from 0 frontend dev knowledge - take a few days to create a very basic website with code. A very basic understanding of html, css and ideally javascript goes a long way. If you're good enough, you'll even be able to brainstorm solutions together which opens up a whole new world of possibilities.

As a resutlt of years of experience as front end developer and having an important role as main developer, I have learnt that communication and transparency are the foundations to success. Understanding and acknowledging the effort that takes to make a prototype based on the user stories and seeing that turning into a real app/website/software it is impressive and as a developer, I truly admire that from the UI/UX team.
