We do not conquer stage fright. Anxiety in a natural human response to potential threats. We must learn to identify if we are actually at risk, and if we are not, to support our nervous systems so we can show up without burning out. Eventually we get better at this regulation and our response to being on stage changes. To often Public Speaking coaches want us to appear confident in the face of fear. I say do not pretend confidence, build it authetically; support yourself, make sure you're safe, and show up.

Most of us have experienced this at some point of time. A) Your safest audience is your immediate family. Followed by family special occasions. This is where the feedback is generally constructive) And then comes the close friend's group (this is where it get's interesting). So be ready for some below the belt one's. But hopefully, if you have earned some confidence from the demos to your family... you will be able to live through. And you graduation day is the day on the stage amongst a larger audience. And some old school dry runs are the best way to overcome your fears.

Fear often occurs because we sense some sort of problem that may occur. Voice cracks, stage missteps, bad reviews, etc. Because we have focused on what may go wrong we become gripped with fear. My advice to someone who is dealing with fear is remind them of the things that they enjoy about singing. Fear is our response to a dreaded perceived future but what if the future that we foresee is one filled with joy and peace? So when we are reminded and immersed in the joys of singing and/or performing, we create a new potential narrative for our next time on stage. This leads us to anticipate great things to come and embrace peace.. Fear brings pain to us before we experience any harm. Let's choose joy instead.

Meine pers?nlichen Steps waren folgende: 1. Akzeptanz & Anerkennung des Problems 2. Analyse: Was & Wann ist das Problem? 3.

For me as a Christian, I concentrate on praying and asking God's blessing for and during the opportunity of singing. Don't sing as an entertainer...Sing as a messenger of the music's purpose!
