In my experience as a Nurse Educator/Administrator, when remote team members clash over work styles, it presents an opportunity to strengthen collaboration: Embrace Differences: Diverse approaches can enhance outcomes when managed effectively Promote Dialogue: Foster respectful conversations to address misunderstandings and build trust. Reaffirm Goals: Align the team around shared objectives and the mission of nursing education. Clarify Expectations: Define roles, responsibilities, and workflows to reduce friction. By addressing conflicts thoughtfully, I’ve seen teams grow stronger and more cohesive, even in virtual settings.

Before addressing the clash in a live teams meeting, share concerns and perspectives in writing and allow both sides time to formulate their thoughts and articulate their reasonings behind their opposing stances.
-
Never ever ever have a competitive environment in a team setting. It is better to change jobs than attempt to fix this. Encourage a meeting where each team member (not just those that clash) to discuss work style and preferences. Implement a clear common workflow to ensure everyone is on the same page. Without this most work will be a waste of time. Encourage team members to be curious about each other's perspectives and adapt accordingly. There is no such thing as a perfect team but if more than 2 disrupt the flow for long, business will suffer and it may be necessary to change jobs in the long run.

I would facilitate a conversation to understand each team member's work style and find common ground. Encouraging flexibility, setting clear expectations, and fostering a collaborative environment can help balance differing approaches and improve team dynamics.
