Have you ever heard of the saying "Fight fire with fire" ? In fire fighting class I was told that when fire spreads, you stop it by cutting off the line of fire, or burn off the line in the opposite direction to stop the spread. When social media arguments ignite, I jump in and share my arguments. I remember in class I had a project group argue over Teams messages about what everyone will contribute on the project, some people didn't like the breakdown, so I jumped in and argued on behalf of each perspective. I gave everyone a voice, but at the same time, each voice felt like their opinions were equally limited. Then I pulled back and said, everyone's equally contributing to their strengths in relation to the group's' work breakdown.

Parental Education with Effective Strategies The points made above are part of a social media action plan. However, what I observed that is missing is parental support and education. Schools make parents sign a technology agreement form. Within that form could be innovative ways for schools to include times and dates of pre-planned parenting workshops titled. Preventing Social Media Drama With Your Teen. It is not realistic for the parent to take all social media away. It is realistic to have Family Social Media Expectations which include parental controls and download app limitations. And activating proper discipline when one's teens exhibits unsavory social media usage. Parents have to reframe the social media perspective.
