Struggling to integrate CRM automation tools with other software is like trying to fit puzzle pieces that just don’t match. Start by identifying the key tools that need to work together, like your CRM and email marketing software. For example, if you want customer data to flow seamlessly, look for integration solutions or APIs that connect them. Involve your team in testing the integrations to ensure they work smoothly. By collaborating and taking it step by step, you’ll create a cohesive workflow that enhances efficiency.

Before diving into technical integration, it's crucial to assess the data-sharing policies with third-party providers. A clear understanding of how data flows across systems is essential for avoiding bottlenecks or compliance issues. Early collaboration with vendors ensures that data permissions are aligned with business goals, particularly regarding customer insights and personalization efforts.

Before you even start "tinkering under the hood" of the tech. 1. Understand Scope & Requirements, Business need, Customer impact. 2. Look for solutions in the landscape / ecosystem you are living in. I cannot say point 2. enough. Time & again do I see 3rd party solutions bolted in when they don't need to be there at all. 3. Look for solutions that use LowCode NoCode plug-ins, API's etc ie middleware tech that bridges the gap. 4. Keep it simple, DO NOT over complicate for heavens sake. 5. In my world, use Power Platform and it's myriad of solutions. 6. Remember don't create "dead ends" in your tech landscape - including redundant code. See Point 3. 7. Don't create data pockets, dumps, copies, lakes. 8. Use your SOLUTION Architect!
