During virtual meetings, using tools like Zoom polls, Slido, or Mentimeter to run live polls or surveys is a great way to actively engage team members. It’s an easy way to gather opinions, make decisions quickly, or even introduce some fun or light-hearted questions to break the ice. One of the easiest ways to keep remote teams engaged is to send out a detailed agenda before the meeting. A well-structured agenda sets expectations and helps attendees prepare, which in turn keeps them more engaged during the meeting. In virtual meetings, it's easy for people to get distracted or fall behind. A key strategy for engagement is to pause regularly to check in and make sure everyone is following along.

Coach them on delegating,prioritizing tasks and managing time. 10) Build trust and healthy working environment.

Engaging remote participants during virtual facilitation can be challenging, but with a few intentional strategies, you can turn your session into a dynamic and interactive experience. Kick off the session with an icebreaker or check-in question that’s quick and lighthearted. For example: "What’s your favorite snack during virtual meetings?" ?? This creates a warm atmosphere and encourages participation from the start. Additionally, Ive found that breakout rooms are key! Facilitate breakout rooms for discussions. Smaller groups make it easier for quieter participants to speak up and feel involved. And my personal fave, USE THE CHAT! Encourage the use of the chat box for reactions, questions, and side conversations.
