I have seen this more than once , people get complacent as they have more experience , in finding new ways to be efficient they will ignore certain procedures to make shortcuts . Some of those are dangerous . This cannot be stressed enough that there is no reason to take any safety shortcuts on any job for the sake of time savings . And no supervisor should be putting pressure on anyone to do such foolishness . I myself have had supervision tell me to get it done without understanding the consequences of their instructions . I have been threatened with insubordination also but I stand my ground when safety is concerned . No job or deadline is worth compromising my safety .

To ensure that repairs are completed safely when a senior technician ignores safety procedures, it is critical to take immediate and decisive action. First, reinforce the importance of following safety protocols by directly addressing the issue with the technician, emphasizing the potential risks to personnel and equipment. If necessary, escalate the matter to a supervisor or safety officer to ensure compliance. Implement regular safety training and audits to reinforce the procedures and make adherence non-negotiable. Lastly, foster a workplace culture where safety is prioritized, and every team member feels empowered to report unsafe practices without fear of retaliation.
