Product owners resist involving end-users early in Agile. How will you convince them of its value?
Understanding the hesitance of product owners to involve end-users early in the Agile process is crucial. Agile Methodologies prioritize iterative development, where requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between self-organizing cross-functional teams. The Agile Manifesto emphasizes individuals and interactions over processes and tools, working software over comprehensive documentation, customer collaboration over contract negotiation, and responding to change over following a plan. Despite these principles, product owners may fear that early user involvement could lead to scope creep, increased costs, or delayed timelines. However, convincing them of the value of this approach can lead to more user-centric products and ultimately, greater success in the market.
