Open communication and and engagement will help parents feel comfortable. Many districts don't use full names or any identifying information. First names only, or student ID numbers, are just a few options that schools use. Finally, keeping the settings as locked down as possible will help prevent students from doing something beyond the scope of the learning needs. For example, having email addresses that can only send and receive within the school's domain will allow students to learn proper usage of email without opening them up to spam, phishing scams, and more.
