- Project should always have contingency plan and Where plan A not works or delays we should have plan B ready on the table - Project timeline is most important and we should always design tasks in form of critical and non critical so for critical task we can always monitor closely.

It is very important to stay on track as far as the timelines are concerned and the best way to have a binding is to have written agreement from supplier for delivery schedule adherence along with its consequences like LD / enalties etc. Inspite of this if vendor delays the delivery, we need to first understand the problem statement that what is causing vendor delay the schedule. Is it some quality issue / vendor’s vendor issue / fund issue / capacity issue ? Focus should be on resolving the issue instead only bombarding on vendor. Escalating issue to highest level at supplier end and our end will help issue get prioritised. Regular follow ups and close watch with Gemba visit will really help. Future business award to decide wisely.

1.Finding the root cause of the delays of vendor Example - is there any complications in the product manufacturing, if yes what are the critical points and need to identify their solutions so that another vendor does not suffer those issues. * Availability of raw materials also a factor , if this is the case we have to come with a on time strategy or with an alternative option if any. 2. Location of vendors can be another factor of delays - as transportation time is also a matter of concern. 3.Capacity checks - identify if the vendor is capable of the work given to him. 4. Now the terms and conditions of supply - clear schedules of supplies with conditions of fines for delayed deliveries.

?? Reaffirm Commitment: Remind all vendors of the importance of sticking to their timelines to avoid project delays. ?? Reassess Priorities: Adjust timelines and deliverables for unaffected vendors to ensure progress. ??
