Long-term employees are some of the hardest people to convince as to taking a step into adoption of cloud technology. This is because they have the likely hood of having a manual routine that works for them making them unwilling to try new technique. The below outline steps that can help: 1. Open collaborate to help understand their fears and concerns. 2. Address their concerns and reassure them. 3. Outline several benefit on productivity, speed and security of data in relation to their work when new technology are used. 4. Showcase a real-life demonstration on how the new technology works, how to interact with it in relation to their work assignment. 5. Provide support resource and create a collaborative and positive working environment.

Champions are essential for cloud adoption, that's true. However for cloud adoption will need multiple types of champions. Not just business, not just IT you need both and also you need C-level / Board level champion because with them organization resistance to change may stop any positive progress. Be also aware of the nature of industry you operate in. For example if you work with insurance company they are very risk aware and may have much lower appetite for experimentation than for example smaller firms where risk could be more acceptable. Each customer priorities are different hence you really need to understand your Champions and their environment. Because in cloud there is no one fits all solution.

I've empowered AWS champions within my team. By identifying early adopters and providing them with additional training and resources, I've created a core group of advocates who can influence and support their peers in the cloud adoption journey.
