These are the common pitfalls that I have seen most service providers make (I was guilty of this too when I first started a few years ago): ?? ?Overcommitting ?? ?Unrealistic timelines ?? ?Unmanaged expectations ?? ?Lack of clear communication Positive client experience is so underrated. I would suggest having a one time call every week with the client where you discuss progress and new expectations or things to work on. Also, prioritise everything related to your client in your to-do list.

As a creator juggling multiple revenue streams, transparency is key to avoiding overwhelm. One strategy that’s worked for me is starting every project with a detailed onboarding process. Here’s what works for me: Communicate availability upfront- Letting my clients know my capacity from the start to avoid over-commitment. Detailed written agreements – Outlining clear deliverables and timelines to avoid misunderstandings. Set regular check-ins – Consistent updates help build trust and keep expectations in line. Buffer time – Adding extra time to deadlines helps me manage unexpected delays on projects. These steps ensure smoother collaboration and realistic expectations between my clients and me.

In addition to clear communication and setting boundaries, prioritization is essential when managing multiple revenue streams. Creators should use data-driven insights to assess their content’s performance, allowing them to allocate resources based on value and audience impact. Flexibility is also key, as creators may need to adapt to unexpected client requests while maintaining focus on core projects. Regularly reassessing capacity, workload, and audience engagement will ensure clients’ expectations are managed in alignment with evolving priorities, enabling sustainable growth.

Super simple. It’s all about setting expectations and managing them along the way. Client’s won’t be unhappy if you promise to deliver in 3 weeks and then actually deliver in 3 weeks. It’s when you promise 3 weeks and deliver in 4, 5, or 6 weeks where it becomes a problem. 1. Get good at recognising what you can deliver in a certain amount of time. 2. Commit to a delivery timeframe, but allow some contingency for things going wrong. Set your timeframe expectations in writing. 3. Never miss a deadline.
