Mornings are crucial in a job search. You're at your sharpest. Morning is the best time to concentrate and compose, whether you're sending in an application or reaching out to a friend or acquaintance to network. People are biased when they're hiring. They equate being "early" with being smart, enthusiastic, and more interested. You might as well take advantage of that. Your day will be better knowing you already accomplished something important. Take the early win. But probably the most important reason to be early in your correspondence is that you're setting yourself up to get an exciting email later on in the day, like gifting yourself a suprise.

I recognize the morning advantage when submitting applications. Recruiters and hiring managers are more receptive with less cluttered inboxes, allowing your resume to stand out. Submitting in the early hours capitalizes on their fresh focus, increasing the likelihood of your application being noticed and given thorough consideration.

I understand the risks of the afternoon slump. Post-lunch, energy levels dip and professionals juggle multiple tasks, leading to less thorough reviews of resumes. To ensure your application receives the attention it deserves, it's strategic to avoid submitting during this time.

Among a pile of overnight emails, it might not receive the same consideration as those sent during quieter hours.

Target the sweet spot, not just the weekend! Avoid a total gamble. Research the company culture. If unsure, aim for weekdays during business hours. This increases the chance your resume lands when hiring managers are actively reviewing applications. You can also try a Tuesday/Wednesday submission. These days often see a lull after the Monday rush and before the weekend backlog.
