I think we are a little different here. We NEED our website to scream ‘us’. Also, I guess I’m not speaking about an ‘event website’ here so it’s not really relevant. Our company website - on its 3rd iteration now - has won awards each time and been very much ‘us’ each time. ‘Us’ has changed as has our requirements from our website. I insist on us writing our own copy for our websites each time. It needs to represent us and if I pay someone else to write about us then it won’t. It needs to be authentic. That’s key.

It's important to not 'bury the headline' when writing your copy. If it takes a long time for people to get close to your call to action button/registration link/website link etc., the less likely they are to click it. Consider how you can make it as easy as possible for people to take the action that you want. What information does your audience or intended audience need to make that decision?
