Usually, you can look up someone's review history. Have they got a history, or is it a fake profile? Are they always negative online, etc? However, employment-related reviews are (rightly) typically anonymous. So, online company reviews are a good source of information, but you must understand that they have limitations. They are only part of the picture. Ideally, get human intelligence by talking to ex-employees and current employees. Also, get data on the staff attrition rate (turnover of employees).

For me it’s more granular to judge using figures and accreditations for instance: - number of years in the market and in the industry is an indicator - number of branches and /or workforce is also indication of company strength and sustainable growth. -number of successful projects/customers . - accreditations and certifications is positive sign of the reliable competency in the market share

They are more informed about the company work cultural, finances & other policies. So talk to at least 5-6 people of company from different departments to get the overall picture about the company.

Unfortunately, there's no sure fire way. Let's say online reviews are 99% accurate. You still have a chance of landing in that 1% not-so-good team. Humans are the least reliable commodity and some of us can be toxic, therefore dynamics can quickly change by the addition or subtraction of even just one person. From personal experience, I have moved internally within a world class company after 5 years and started working with a group that appeared incredibly "5exy." Turns out they were the most toxic group of managers I have ever worked with in my career to the point I was ready to quit in 4 months.
