How do you use your network to achieve your career goals?

Being selective from the very beginning of building your network is essential. Too often people go for metrics and numbers, however if the people you're connecting with are not relevant, foundations will never be strong enough to support you when you reach the peak of your career success.

As long as you know how to use your network as well as time you give to your network wisely, you should be able to use it to your advantage. Have an agenda, don't waste their time, be clear as well as mention how you can be of service to them. It may be as simple as you supporting them in their endeavors.

They are not "Leads" "Followers",or "Connections" as the capitalistic speak of the water we swim in so disconnectedly references them. In every relationship we have, taking care of people we care about takes time, patience and empathy. Relationships with an online audience is no different. So, do all of the things to let them know you're interested, you care and have solutions.

In my experience, asking for help is a good thing. People are usually willing to assist, especially if they've been through what you're facing. Their guidance can help you reach success faster.
