How do you use storytelling to address common customer pain points and objections?

Using storytelling to address customer concerns is like sharing your own experience to build trust. For example, if a customer is worried about selling my snacks because of demand, instead of just saying, "You will sell it," I will share a story like this: Kids and even adults love snacking between meals, and since students are back in school, there’s always high demand for snacks. In fact, your neighbor ordered 200 cartons last week and already placed another order this week. By telling stories like this, I show how the product is in demand, which makes the customer feel more confident. People are more likely to trust something when they hear how it worked for others.

Finding stories to tell is from my own experiences or others that relate to the customer's concern. For example, when I was starting my Virtual assistant service, I had a client who was unsure if hiring my services would really save them time. Instead of just telling them it would, I shared a story from another client who had the same concern. This client was constantly overwhelmed with tasks, but after working with me for just a few weeks, they saw a big difference. They were able to focus on their core business, and I handled all the admin work seamlessly. I went further to share testimony and recommendation. That story helped the new client see the potential benefits and gave them the confidence to move forward with my service.

First, I listen carefully to the objection, then I find a similar situation from my experience. I share the story of how I helped that client overcome their concern and link it to the current situation. For example, if a customer says my service is too expensive, I might respond with: I had a client who was initially skeptical about using virtual services because of a bad experience where they didn’t get their money’s worth. They were hesitant, but after I assured them and delivered excellent work during the first week of a trial, they became one of my most loyal customers and continue to return for more. you get a bad job when you go for cheap service.
