How do you use digital communication tools and platforms to collaborate and network with others?

From my two MBAs, I've learnt the importance of networking. Digital tools are essential for this. Firstly, strategise. Identify individuals crucial to your professional goals, onboard your presence on the platforms they frequent, and share/engage with relevant content. Platforms like LinkedIn offer ample opportunities to connect, share insights, and participate in industry discussions. By proactively engaging with target individuals and nurturing these relationships, our networking efforts are purposeful and can yield results in advancing our career aspirations. Remember the African Proverb: 'If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together,' highlighting the value of collaborative networking for lasting success.

Choose the Right Tools for the Job Messaging Apps: Tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, and WhatsApp for quick, real-time communication. Video Conferencing: Platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams for virtual meetings and webinars. Project Management: Tools like Trello, Asana, and Monday.com to organize tasks, assign responsibilities, and track progress. Document Collaboration: Services like Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, and Dropbox for sharing and co-editing documents in real time. Social Networking: Platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and professional forums for networking and connecting with industry peers.

I would start at a different point. First, identify your audience. Who do you want to get your message to. It can be multiple types of audiences, but write those out. When you know the audience, you can build customizable content strategy.

For digital etiquette and professionalism, remember this: don't publish or send out something you wouldn't want The New York Times to publish about yourself. Turn negatives into positives, respect people's ideas and only talk when you have something to contribute.

Have you ever read something, and because something was missing or punctuation was misused, you found yourself unclear on the context? Lost in translation is not a place you want to find yourself when communicating digitally. With plenty of free resources available, it is imperative that what you put out there sends the correct message. As a digital content creator, I always put everything in Grammarly. Whether writing a social media post or creating a white page, my objective is always a clear and concise read. As someone who struggles with dyslexia, I leave nothing to chance. Lost in translation is not where I want to find myself or my readers.

Integrating a unified customer experience platform can enhance global collaboration, streamline processes, ensure compliance, and boost content planning. With centralized access, teams can collaborate seamlessly across regions and departments. Customizable workflows ensure adherence to brand standards and regulations (you can even bring your legal and creative teams along for the ride!). By building these workflows, encouraging shared calendars, and utilizing accurate reporting, you can increase internal awareness of what’s working/what’s not across teams (in real-time!), and what campaigns are running, further improving content reuse and ROI.

Lastly, prioritize building genuine relationships by connecting with intention, nurturing connections through personalized messages, and offering assistance or support (don’t spam people with random requests!).
