I would only really test the master in the car(bass check), earbuds, and straight from the phone(1k check/mids). If you already like how it sounds coming out of studio speakers, home systems will be fine. Chances are the bass or mids would have the highest likelihood to need tweaking.

This keys in on a crucially important point: no matter how fancy or expensive the software, effects chain, or monitoring system... chances are 99.9% of our listeners use less-than-ideal methods to listen to our works of art. Before investing in mastering, take time to study your listeners, to identify how they will look to enjoy your art. Then, make it your mission to test all mixes and masters in EVERY configuration that your listeners can be expected to enjoy your music with. What we're looking for is a balanced mix that plays well across a BROAD spectrum of environments. Avoid the trap of having a mix that sounds absolutely epic in an expensive studio, but doesn't deliver a similar impact when heard in headphones, for example
