Unfortunately, anyone can call themselves a 'coach.' Some of my previous clients have been ripped off by poor coaching practices. They told me it's difficult for them to trust another career service provider because of the time and money they invested in advice that didn't work for them. Consider the coach reviews, content, and overall reputation online. Number of followers doesn't mean expertise. Don't be afraid to ask questions before you sign up for a service. Ask what types of clients they usually work with and how they could help you. You may or may not be an ideal client for that coach. Coaches can't help everyone. As a career service provider, it's my job to let prospective clients know if we are a good match to work together.
