One thing I've found helpful is when parents come to pick up their chidren end of day maintain eye contact and tell them the highlights of their child's day and they might ask you some questions afterwards as a result of you being positive about there child.

Out of the many observations that I have had, I wish to share this one that the parents look forward to a feedback about their child's behaviour which they feel might be a little different from their behaviour with them at home.

In my experience, opening the doors of your classroom, inviting parents in to share their expertise set with the children, or by welcoming them in to read to younger learners, helps to strengthen the ties between home and school and allows children to learn about the diverse cultures of their classmates.

An example I have seen is a teacher i work with making a podcast for the parents in our classroom about her experience as a teacher and with each one of the students individually and the parents from our classroom listen to it religiously and always compliment her on it whenever they see her.

Using postive language in my experience will always lead to the parents asking questions, or providing feedback,and there colloabortion with teachers in the classroom is welcome and highly recommended as its makes a better experience for their children.

If you find that you are in a classroom with a lot of spanish speaking children and the parents speak spanish get on Babbel and learn Spanish, if the parents in your room need more time with your schedule video call conferences with them, and if its a resource issue talk to admisitration in your school or child care center to figure out what can be done to get more resources.

The more evidence you have through intense research you have done to prove to parents that what you are saying to them as an educator of their children is true the better your relationship on a professional level with parents will be. As teachers what we need to realize is when you have the trust of the parents the world is our oyster as far as our carrers as educators go.
