Bezahlung ist immer ein schweres Thema. Frage Dich folgendes: Wie lange hast Du Deine Skills trainiert? Wie umfangreich ist der Auftrag? Anhand dessen rechnest Du Deinen Stundensatz aus. Was bist Du Dir wert? Sp?ter, mit mehr Erfahrung, kannst Du auch feste Angebote mit Preisen erstellen, sobald du ein Klientel hast und eine feste Positionierung. Vorher macht ein grober Stundensatz Sinn. Du kannst auch fragen, was das Budget für den Auftrag ist. Manchmal haben Leute nur einen bestimmten Betrag, den sie zahlen k?nnen. Und je nach Budget passt Du Dein Angebot an.

In den letzten Jahren habe ich mich sehr stark mit dem Thema "Money Mindset" auseinandergesetzt und auch gesellschaftlich ist das Thema Geld stark polarisierend. 1. We usually calculate a rate individually for each project. The main factors affecting the price are the author's popularity, the complexity/duration/details of the work, and the rights.

In my personal experience, I have found that it was useful not to have a cookie cutter price list as projects' needs and values do differ from one project to another. That said, it is ideal to have a starting price list for all potential prospects (Editorial illustration, surface illustration, storybook spread, etc.) This way, you'll be able to find the balance between a set rate for each area of projects along with catering to each prospect project taking into account freelancer's value and client's needs.

For commercial projects such as a TVC, OOH campaign etc, your costs should be based on: -A production fee (which will vary depending on the complexity of the illustration) -A usage fee (how long will the image be used, in which media, in which territory)

There are types of work for which rates can be set. But still, we can only offer a range, not a strictly fixed price. For example, a classic ad storyboard frame without layers costs approximately 120-180 euros. The exact price depends on the selected author and the complexity of the task.

No matter how you're billing, keeping track of your time will help you in the long run. We often under-estimate how long tasks ACTUALLY take. When you have real data to go from, it helps inform your pricing and timelines. Tracking your activity also helps to create SOP's so you can grow and hire.

Sharing your pricing online is not always a great approach because it leaves no room for negotiation. Instead, you can try sharing price ranges, starting prices, or have a "investment level" or "your budget" dropdown menu in your contact form.

If we are talking about the website of a specific author, then their website may have relatively accurate rates. But as an illustration agency, we've never put price lists on our website, even for things like storyboards. It just doesn't feel right in our creative realm.
