1 What is DNSSEC and why do you need it?

DNSSEC stands for Domain Name System Security Extensions, and it is a set of specifications that enhance the security of DNS. DNSSEC adds cryptographic signatures to each DNS record, which are generated by a pair of public and private keys. The public key is published in the DNS, while the private key is kept secret by the owner of the domain. 2 How does DNSSEC work in the cloud?

To enable DNSSEC on Google Cloud DNS, you need to create or use an existing managed zone for your domain, enable DNSSEC for the managed zone by selecting the On option in the DNSSEC section of the zone details page, and activate DNSSEC on your domain registrar by logging into your account and following the instructions. If you use Google Domains, you can activate DNSSEC from the Google Cloud Console by selecting the Activate on registrar option in the DNSSEC section of the zone details page.

4 How to enable DNSSEC on AWS Route 53?

AWS Route 53 is a cloud service that offers highly available and scalable DNS hosting and routing, as well as manual DNSSEC configuration for domains registered with AWS or other registrars. To enable DNSSEC on AWS Route 53, you must create a hosted zone or use an existing one, generate a key-signing key (KSK) and a zone-signing key (ZSK) for your domain with a tool like dnssec-keygen or openssl, upload the keys to AWS Route 53 with the AWS CLI or the AWS SDK, sign your DNS records with the keys using dnssec-signzone or ldns-signzone, upload the signed zone file to AWS Route 53 with the AWS CLI or the AWS SDK, and update your domain registrar with the DS record for your KSK found in the output of dnssec-signzone or ldns-signzone.

5 How to enable DNSSEC on Azure DNS?

Azure DNS is a cloud service that offers fast and secure DNS hosting and management, and supports automatic DNSSEC provisioning for domains registered with Azure or other supported registrars. To enable DNSSEC on Azure DNS, you need to create a DNS zone or use an existing one, then enable DNSSEC for your zone by selecting the Enable DNSSEC option in the Overview page. You can also configure the key rollover policy for your zone by selecting the Configure option in the DNSSEC page, choosing between automatic or manual key rollover, and specifying the key length and duration. Lastly, link your DNS zone to your domain registrar by selecting the Link option in the DNSSEC page, choosing between automatic or manual linking depending on your registrar. If you choose automatic linking, Azure will update the DS record for your zone with your registrar. If you choose manual linking, you will have to copy and paste the DS record from Azure to your registrar.

Sollte dein DNS oder Domainanbieter kein DNSSEC unterstützen, ist es h?chste Zeit über einen neuen Anbieter nachzudenken. Es gibt keinen Grund, auf Sicherheit zu verzichten.
