Replacement of hardware like hard disks need a degree of planning. As there are a number of pre- and post- change steps that need to be completed, to ensure the success of the hardware change. So it is beneficial to define at least an outline plan to ensure all required steps are completed, in the appropriate order. Additionally, it is best to allow probably double the time you expect to complete the hardware replacement in, as a precaution.
