For Ethernet copper cabling when used for 10/100/1000BASE-T, the maximum allowed length of a Cat 5e / Cat 6 cable is 100 meters (328 ft). Cat7 maximum length, like Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A, has a maximum distance of 328 feet (100 meters). Category 7 wire has four shielded twisted copper pairs and an overall cable shield.
