There are currently three organisations managing LEED certifications in India. - USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council) - IGBC (Indian Green Building Council) - Griha (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) All the systems however have limited reach on the day to day matters related to either Construction or Post construction operation. There is need for more robust systems and Government incentives to promote Green Buildings and subsequently adding value to the environment and society.

When company decides to start the digital transformation in construction: - Company needs to identify current challenges and what are the digital solutions available, then find best suited for their requirements. - Organization needs to prepare a digital transformation road map, which contains vision and benefits that organization receives, how to reach and what are the tools available.

In my experience adaptation to the digital atmosphere need comprehensive planning, wise investment and commitment to accept the change. Although management support and investment are very crucial the workforce needs to be aware of the benefits of deploying these technologies. Technologies should select based n the short and long-term goals of the company, and require training need to provide for the staff. Selecting some pilot projects to test the technologies and workflow will help the team to select appropriate strategies.

Success in digital transformation will be noticed if Companies can deploy data gathering tools to accurately give the right analysis to management. Data gathering and historical data are key to giving right insights.

Change is one of the difficult things for human. When it comes to technology I'm of the opinion that all we need is collaboration, every person involved in construction doesn't have to be one and expert, however you must have knowledge enough for interpretation of some of the data to be generated by these technologies. Furthermore, in your theme you must definitely have a unit that must handle technology and that is where collaboration comes to play.

Modular buildings are definitely the way forward. With the lack of skilled trades in the construction industry due to the lack of training over the past 40/50 years. The best way forward would be to manufacture in a factory condition allowing more control over the finished product. One downside to this is the additional costs for production in a factory but the upside is the controlled Quality being produced. Repetitive construction is another option where we repeat the build process over and over again again improving the quality.

I don't think there has been any issue with Diversity and inclusion in construction industry as all the people from different backgrounds, with different skill sets from different levels of society work in a single project.

Without personal views and convictions being changed, behaviors toward women and minorities won't improve to create an inclusive workplace.

It also provides opportunities in emerging countries in the form of knowledge exchange, jobs and providing infrastructure, all of which boost the local economy and help people in local communities to become more self-sufficient in the long term.
