For me what works best is I find out from their managers beforehand if there're any personalities which could disturb the vibe, and why. Not only do I spot potential problems but they actually appreciate the trainer taking an interest in what they personally would ideally want to get from their time with me.

I usually get to have those conversations offline prior to the training sessions. I set a very clear understanding of what behavior will be acceptable. From the people who might be concerned, I let them know I have their back and they're safe. If someone seems to have an attitude which could make others uncomfortable, I spell out they'll be told to leave. I own the training not them. I have no problem at all being challenged and in fact I encourage it because that allows them to get really engaged. But I don't tolerate "strong" personalities making others feel uncomfortable.

A training environment is not the place to fix group dynamics. All they're there for is to engage and learn and to be professional and decent enough to let others learn and be free to participate in whatever style works for them. The moment someone tries to make anyone else feel wrong or inferior, even subtly, they immediately wish they hadn't. I won't tolerate it. Then they're quiet and the rest of the team is visibly relieved and the following days go well. Only had a tiny handful in the last 20 years.
