Depending on the requirement, it's possible to integrate distributed CICS systems such as Micro Focus Enterprise Server and IBM TXSeries for Multiplatforms, that may be hosted on cloud platforms, via LU6.2 configuration. Doing so allows many of the CICS intercommunication facilities such as function shipping, transaction routing, distributed program link (DPL) and distributed transaction processing (DTP), to take place between connected cloud and non-cloud CICS environments. Additional communication software -- such as Microsoft Host Integration Server and IBM Communications Server -- is also required to be installed and configured.
