Metrics selection's tricky - you want a balanced scorecard approach. Consider using COBIT's goals cascade to derive relevant KPIs. And don't forget qualitative measures! Sometimes a good story trumps raw numbers. Oh, and pro tip: pilot your metrics before full rollout. Nothing worse than realizing your "perfect" KPI's useless 6 months in.

Don't underestimate the cultural aspect of demonstrating data value. In my experience, even the best metrics fall flat if there's no data-driven culture. Consider implementing data literacy programs & celebrating "data wins" to build momentum. Also, be patient - true business impact often takes time to materialize. Set realistic expectations & focus on continuous improvement rather than overnight transformation.
