Cross-docking is a distribution method that involves the direct dispatch of products from the supplier to the consumer, without the need for prolonged storage. There are two approaches to cross-docking: "One-touch," involving the direct transfer from the inbound vehicle to the outbound one, and "Two-touches," where goods go through a picking area before being forwarded to the second vehicle. Below are some suggested KPIs to assess the efficiency of the process: - Average dwell time; - Average process time (Internal and external); - Index % of damages; - Waiting time (Idle time). These indicators provide valuable insights to enhance the process, ensuring effective and precise distribution.
