"Work them" - Intentional Tasks 4. "Sheep dog" Develop an officers group within them that allows within parameters a command group of peers 5. "Exercise" activate them often enough to ensure engagement when needed

Lo que hago normalmente en estos casos es preparar un formulario que envío a todos los voluntarios, incluyendo actividades, fechas o periodos y horarios y asegurarme que cada uno de los voluntarios cuente con la capacitación necesaria para llevar a cabo la actividad en la que quiere participar y si no, invitarle a tomarla antes. Les solicito correos personal y del trabajo, pero si van a participar es importante que compartan su celular para incluirles en un grupo de trabajo en WhatsApp que nos permita estar en contacto todo el tiempo del proyecto con el equipo de trabajo respetando ciertos acuerdos como horarios y reglas básicas. De esa forma se da atención en caso de cualquier eventualidad de forma oportuna.

An example I’ve seen tat was effective for our team was during the Ebola Virus Disease outbreak in my country of Liberia. We used our mobile phones to communicate with our staff and select leaders for each community. Once we got the information from the Ministry of Health on the approved intervention protocol, we organized a meeting and together, we developed our strategy as an organization and we’re able to go out and provide prevention education and measures to help our communities to protect themselves from the spread of the disease.

One thing that is always the correct answer is clear communication. I have found when I let the other volunteers know there is help needed, they jump in where they can. It also helps to cross-train volunteers.

De acuerdo, trabajar con voluntarios es estar siempre abierto a contingencias. La flexibilidad es clave para poder gestionar adecuadamente y generar un ambiente propicio en el equipo. De otra forma se vuelve algo monótono, mandatorio y no se hace con gusto la actividad, como debe ser un trabajo de voluntariado. La empatía y la confianza son claves para dar oportunidad de que se den ajustes en el equipo. Cuando el equipo está cohesionado y se apoya, los mismos miembros del equipo apoyarán o propondrán cómo compensar estos cambios. Debemos estar dispuestos a recibir nuevas ideas, formas de trabajo o cambios que no alteren el resultado esperado.

Nossa equipe sabe que imprevistos podem acontecer. Temos uma rede de apoio entre nós que, quando necessário supre a ausência de quem estava escalado. Alem disto, buscamos sempre ajustar os horários das atividades a fim de que todos que est?o interessados em colaborar possam faze-lo dentro de sua agenda. There is a reason Jesus sent the disciples out two by two. It was for comraderie, as well as the flow of ministry. If one was occupied, the other was free to pick up any slack or focus on a parallel line of ministry. The same model should be used for any area where possible.
