As recommended in the book Open Strategy, you should not limit the strategic process to only few selected high-level executives. Involving front-line employees, different departments and even external (customer, supplier, stakeholder from others industries) can bring a completely new point of view. This helps to avoid common bias such as unimaginative strategy, status-quo trap, loss aversion or overconfidence trap. "In general, insiders can't imagine the future as well as a mixed group of insiders and outsiders can- not because they have too little expertise or knowledge about their business but because they have to much of it"
