Writing a hand written note is something most people won't take the time to do but as with everything you do, it should be real and not just a cursory thing. Try to mention something specific you connected on or that resonated with you in your thank you note.

Definitely do not be discouraged if a job doesn't materialize from going to a job fair. Oftentimes, employers are attending job fairs with very specific openings in mind and sometimes that means they too are looking for a needle in a haystack. Even if the timing doesn't align for what the employers are looking for and your background, it is still a worth-wile endeavor to network and make connections for future opportunities. You never know when someone you met will have something new available and that opportunity may line up even better than you had expected. Always treat people with kindness. Meet new employers with curiosity and focus on being yourself and making genuine connections. The rest will fall into place.
