How do you maintain a positive mindset and motivation after a sales rejection?

Feedback in sales is everything. Often we don't want to hear it because it can knock our confidence, however, feedback is so vital to moving forward with our success. It's important to remember that if someone gives you feedback, it means they want to help you to improve. Often rejection comes from three places, the customer doesn't need what you offer (fine), they don't understand what you offer fully (easy fix) or it comes because of you. You meaning, you've had so much rejection, that you've lost your enthusiasm that day, therefore reflecting on the customers decision to not buy.

Some great things to do are: - review sales call recordings with your manager and team. -Identify patterns of when you are getting rejected in terms of title and timing. -realize that just like baseball even the hall of famers only get on base 1 out of 3 times.

I think everybody needs a sales coach, and the coach facilitates mock calls, mock knocks, and mock knock-downs, and mock-wins. When you see enough of such mocks, you then have the conviction to tell yourself that "Ive seen enough" scenarios.

In my experience in sales, there are two categories of people. Ones we call 'runners' (they work the numbers to get a yes) and one's we call 'turners' (they use their skillset to turn maybe's into yes's). You should spend time with both types of people and learn what style suits you best. Both shadow THEM, and let them shadow YOU. There is way more to be grateful for in most cases and that perspective lends itself to continued success!!
