Integrated with the TOGAF ADM, the Enterprise Continuum is a step-by-step approach to develop, maintain, and govern architectures. This approach consists of eight phases, from A to H, that cover the architecture lifecycle. The Enterprise Continuum is used in each phase to guide the selection, creation, and modification of architecture assets. For instance, in Phase A, Architecture Vision, it is used to define the scope and boundaries of the project and identify relevant assets that can support the achievement of business objectives. In Phase B, Business Architecture, it is used to define processes and functions that deliver business value and map them to assets in the Architecture Continuum and Solutions Continuum. Additionally, in Phase C, Information Systems Architecture, it is utilized to define data and application architectures that support business architecture; likewise in Phase D, Technology Architecture, it is employed to define technology infrastructure that enables data and application architectures. Moreover, in Phase E, Opportunities and Solutions, it is used to identify potential solutions that realize the architecture vision; while in Phase F, Migration Planning, it is used to plan and prioritize implementation of selected solutions; then in Phase G, Implementation Governance, it is utilized to monitor and control implementation of solutions; finally in Phase H, Architecture Change Management, it is employed to assess impact of changes on existing architectures.
