1 Use meaningful names and labels

One of the first steps to keep your parametric models flexible and adaptable is to use meaningful names and labels for your parameters, constraints, features, sketches, and components. This will help you and others to understand the purpose and function of each element, and to avoid confusion or mistakes. For example, instead of using generic names like D1, D2, or Sketch1, use descriptive names like Length, Width, or Base_Sketch. You can also use prefixes, suffixes, or categories to group related parameters or features, such as Dim_ for dimensions, Const_ for constraints, or Cut_ for cut features.

Es importante desde que se inicia el modelado pensar en que este cambiara en el futuro y el arbol de operaciones debe estar preperada para ello, usando referencias, simetrias y patrones a como se crea necesario de tal manera que la edicion solo necesite la modificacion de un par de medidas, a veces es recomendable que algunas partes hijas esten en contexto del ensamble para que automaticamente se reconfiguren todas las medidas necesarias, a veces no se recomienda porque tiende a ignorarse o no documentarse todos los cambios al momento de emitir una nueva revision lo cual nos va a generar un gran problema.

Many softwares have a feature that allows you to have multiple variations in one file. For example, Creo has a Family Table feature that allows you to make variations of a 3D model by having different dimensions, base shapes, file names, etc. You can also use tables to keep records of a part that changes over time for upgraded machinery.
