How do you keep your camera sensor working like new?

1 Know your sensor type

Before you start cleaning your sensor, you need to know what type of sensor you have. There are two main types of sensors in digital cameras: CCD and CMOS. 4 Follow the right steps

Then, set your camera to manual mode and enable the sensor cleaning or mirror lock-up function. Next, use a blower to blow away any loose dust from your sensor and filter. After that, use a brush to sweep away any remaining dust from your sensor and filter. Finally, use a swab to wipe away any stubborn dust or stains from your sensor and filter. When you are finished, turn off the sensor cleaning or mirror lock-up function and reattach the lens, battery, and memory card. Take another test shot to make sure your sensor is clean.
