Worked with ITIL and COBIT for around 2 decades, and learned that it's best to integrate several frameworks to meet the specific needs of each organization. Simply using them as they are may not always work well. It's also good to combine them with other frameworks/ methodologies for better value generation. Both ITIL and COBIT have changed over time to include new trends and technologies. ITIL was updated from ver 3 to 4, adding newer ideas like Agile and DevOps. COBIT also has newer versions, with COBIT 2019 being the latest, although many still use COBIT 5. Staying up-to-date with these changes is important.
