Now that you have prepared the denim fabric, you can begin ironing it. To avoid shrinkage or fading, make sure to set the iron to the highest heat setting that the fabric can handle--you can check the care label or test a small area on the inside seam to see how the fabric reacts to the heat. Spritz some water or use the steam function to moisten the fabric before ironing, which will help smooth out wrinkles and creases more easily and prevent scorching. Iron in sections, starting from the seams and working your way to the center, using firm and even strokes and avoiding stretching or pulling. Flip over and iron the other side, paying attention to any details such as pockets, buttons, or zippers, and iron around them carefully. Hang or fold immediately after ironing to avoid new wrinkles forming.
