Two of the most successful lessons I've learned during the idea generation process are, listen to your team and follow ideas from the start to completion. I've found the most success when the lean leader/black belt/facilitator listened with the intent to learn and understand what's happened in the past. Most solutions I've implemented with teams were not new. They were merely small to medium pivots from something that's been done before. Active listening and follow through have been two key elements during the idea generation process inside of CI projects.
