1 Understand the basics

Before you dive into the details of your regression output, you need to understand the basics of the method and the assumptions behind it. Regression analysis is a type of statistical modeling that estimates how one or more independent variables (also called predictors or explanatory variables) affect a dependent variable (also called response or outcome variable). For example, you might want to know how age, gender, and education influence income. There are different types of regression models, such as linear, logistic, or multiple regression, depending on the nature and number of variables involved. Each model has its own formula, coefficients, and significance tests that indicate how well the model fits the data and how strong the relationships are. 2 Interpret the coefficients

4 Assess the fit and quality

R-squared is the proportion of variance in the dependent variable that is explained by the independent variables. 5 Communicate the results

The way you communicate the results of your regression analysis depends on your audience, your purpose, and your medium.
