Para instalar las nuevas guias, antes que nada se debe corroborar que el recambio nuevo sea apto para el modelo a reemplazar, (diametro externo, interno, altura y encastre del reten si lo posee), ya que estos van con valores de supermedidas en muchos de los casos. Luego se debe calentar la culata a temperatura moderada y se debe enfriar la guia nueva para que su instalacion sea menos forzosa. Una vez instalada y a temperatura ambiente se debe controlar el diametro interno de la guia nueva por posibles variaciones en este, y en todo caso llevar a medida que el fabricante especifica con un calisuar o escariador.

Para Instalar las nuevas valvulas, se debe asegurar la estanqueidad de la misma y asegurarse que el asiento de valvula se encuentre en perfecto estado. Se deben lubricar las mismas por donde corre en la guia. Deben colocarse los apoya resortes, si es que los trae, e instalarse los sellos de valvula. Colocar los resortes con sus sombreros y sus chavetas con la herramienta compresora adecuada al modelo. Corroborar la medida de profundidad o altura de la cabeza de valvula y altura de vastago de acuerdo a especificaciones del fabricante.

Antes de armar la culata con las valvulas nuevas, se debe asegurar que los asientos colocados en esta se encuentren el perfecto estado, caso contrario se deben rectificar y o reemplazar, una vez rectificado y o reemplazado se debe controlar el asentado de la valvula con este mediante tecnicas visuales con tinte entre ambas partes o mediante vacuomertro de vacio para asegurarse la perfecta estanqueidad. Tambien se deben controlar los diametros internos de las guias con anterioridad, y corroborar que se encuentren dentro de las tolerancias especificadas por el fabricante.
