I often draw from real-life situations encountered by participants or tailor examples to their industry. For instance, if training on customer service, I might present a scenario involving handling a difficult client based on common challenges in their field. I also leverage case studies or simulations for interactive learning. By connecting concepts to practical experiences, learners grasp material more effectively. It's like seasoning a dish – the right examples add flavor and depth to the learning experience.

In my experience as a Tech Trainer, I've found the pre training interaction with learners to be extremely important. It helps in understanding the exact needs of the learners, their proficiency levels, their comfort, accessibility, challenges with the training product/service and their expectations from the training. This interaction can be achieved via a short meeting, sending an email, or survey forms asking learners to share their input about training challenges and expectations. Based on the input shared by the learners, specific learning objectives can be set for the training with respect to the Training Duration, Mode of the Training: Classroom or Virtual, Training Content like 15:30:15 for Introduction, Demo, Questions respectively.

Share your experiences, and stay on the topic, it's also good to involve the trainees and learn from their experiences because you're more than likely training a diverse group of workers, some more seasoned than others, and listening to the people who you work around, can give trainees more comfort in knowing that they can go to the seasoned trainees for guidance, sometimes conversations create scenarios, but when creating your training, there has to be an opening for that.

I believe storytelling is the best way to create a context for a theory. When people listen to a story, they can relate and imagine themselves in the situation, hence making them understand the context. To me there are two types of stories - personal stories or other people's stories. A personal story is more powerful because it provides a unique perspective and it increases our credibility because we went through the process. Which means we can validate the concept or theory that we explain. Metaphors and analogies are another way to provide great examples to enhance the understanding of certain topics.

Remember, the "why" matters – explain the connection between the example and the learning objective. Don't stop there! A facilitator's active listening is key. Be prepared to draw on additional, relevant examples on-the-spot based on participant questions and challenges. This adaptability fosters deeper engagement and a more meaningful learning experience.

While using examples, stories or scenarios are very helpful in the learning journey for both the trainer/facilitator and the learner, it's very important to use relevant examples or used cases only. This will enable the learners to follow the training content better as they would be able to relate and apply their learnt concepts practically. To ensure that the trainers use relevant examples, they should be aware of their training audience's nature of work. It's not necessary to know about their each and every work activity but it's beneficial to atleast understand how they use that specific training product/service at their work, offering them a better learning experience. In addition to that, they should also look into tailored use cases.

To increase relevance, be sure your examples and scenarios are industry and workplace specific. Here are three ways to do this: 1. In the needs assessment phase, ask stakeholders to detail the workplace situations that motivated their desire to host this training session. 2. Draft your examples and scenarios from the information gleaned, review this draft with stakeholders and then revise according to their feedback. 3. In the post session survey, ask participants to rate the relevance the examples and scenarios. Then revise as needed in future iterations of this session.

It's effective to include more interactive elements to the training to make it engaging and meaningful to the learners. It could include, PowerPoint slides with appropriate proportions of text, images or video content, short hands-on activities, using simulated prototypes to show the real-world scenarios with demonstration.

Cela peut passer par la création d'un persona. Je crée aussi des activités dans lesquelles les apprenants jouent un r?le, comme une histoire dont tu es le héros. La situation créée doit être proche d'une situation que le participant a vécu ou peut rencontrer pour permettre à l'apprenant de l'impliquer. J'utilise majoritairement les méthodes actives et expérientielles, et particulièrement ludopédagogiques.

While selecting the examples and scenarios, always keep in mind the audience level of understanding, must be specific with respect to the topic, easy to be understood, preferably short, better if done as an activity/ creating practical scenario during training.must illustrate both positive and negative side impacts.

Real-life learning is the BEST kind! I love creating scenarios that feel like real-world challenges. It's all about putting learners in the hot seat and seeing how they handle it. I use a mix of case studies, role-plays, and simulations to make it feel authentic. Plus, I give clear feedback so they can learn and grow.

Creating a theme is a great way to make people being in an immersive state. This will give them opportunity to unconsciously participate in the activities that we design, in turns they will become themselves. Tying the objective with the message that we would like to highlight is the crucial elements in good learning environment. Debriefing should be directed to the topic of the discussion so that learning can stick and it doesn't goes scattered in every directions.

I always find participants understand better when they involved in activities eg: simulations, discussions or mini games, FAQ. Start with explanation on the objective of the activity. Follow by activities to enhance the learning. To reinforce of the learning, ask the participants what they have learnt via this activity and how to apply in real life scenario.

Aligning scenarios to activities should be set in stone - although it is not. Almost any activity from an icebreaker to a context-setting activity can and should be aligned to relevant scenarios. This will ensure that from right from the outset, the concepts are being subtly reinforced in the mindset of the participants. For example, for a soft-skills training targeted at enhancing employability in youth - I set the context for all activities around either job-interview scenarios, or corporate team interactions, or senior manage discussions. This not only opened up a host of possible activities as individuals or teams, it also ensured that the debriefing of every activity naturally segued into learning and application of relevant concepts.

This can include: - Using authentic language and terminology. - Incorporating relevant images, audio, or video to enhance the scenario. - Creating relatable characters and personas. AI is an extremely powerful tool that can help companies provide significantly improved scenarios in their training and education options, leading to better employee success and advancement.

One thing I will always do before training is to understand participants' background: Which company or industry they are from, what are their job designations and anticipate why they would want to join the course. This helps me to tailor my training delivery by incorporating relevant and meaningful examples and scenarios.

Let's face it, most training materials resemble Ikea instructions after a toddler rampage. Throw away the linear scripts and embrace interactive scenarios. Challenge your team to build a bridge out of office supplies to escape the dreaded "Death-by-Boring-Meeting" island. Trust me, they'll learn about collaboration faster than you can say "duct tape solution."
