Collaboration and upskilling are very important in any team, especially a security operations team where the goal is to stay one step ahead of attackers. Law enforcement agencies often have daily briefings to ensure that each shift is brought up to speed on outstanding issues, relevant incidents from previous shifts, and other pertinent information to help them complete their shifts more efficiently and safely. A security operations team should be the same. Making sure that the team members are all brought up to speed on relevant alerts, ongoing testing, and identified threats on a daily and/or weekly basis is the best way to foster a collaborative culture, which can lead to cross training opportunities from there.
