5 vocal warmup tips and tricks I've gained along the way from personal experience and sharing notes with my other musician friends: 1) decaf tea + lemon + honey = VOCAL NECTAR 2) over-the-counter licorice throat spray 3) no milk, cheese, etc. within 12-24hrs of your session 4) don't "over talk" 12-24hrs of your session (causes extra strain and can lose your voice) 5) exercise / get those endorphins flowing (also great for breath control in the booth and on stage)! Run these plays regularly - in addition to the vocal exercises, no smoke/drink, etc. - and you should be good to go!

First of all, you have to be careful to not force your voice for doing something that is not capable of do. If you have vocal problems (hoarsenesss or vocal injuries) the best is cancel the recording session for other day, until your voice were completely healed. For minor issues: Warm up Vocalize Bottle of water accessible Not drink alcohol or smoke

Breathwork has helped me immensely. I do the Wim Hof Method (free on youtube) and then take a cold shower. It's another power-up to add to the great advice here already.

What's beautiful about music is that it's not just what you say, but also HOW you say it! If you're relatively new to recording music, you may just be getting used to the novelty of listening to your voice be recorded. Once you pass that stage though, you'll need to get way more comfortable on the mic. How do you increase your comfort (or at least SOUND like you're comfortable) on the mic? By being FLEXIBLE and FLUID with your vocals over the music production. How's your breath control? Can you play with different pockets in your rhythm and delivery? How quickly and seamlessly can you alternate between vocal octaves, enunciation, and tempo? In short: are you in control of the words or do the words control you?

Take stock of every recording session you have (because they're not all the same). What went well vs. what could've been improved? Was the engineer experienced? Did they understand your needs when you asked them (or without you even asking)? Was the setup to your liking? Did you practice your lyrics enough? Did you run out of time? Were the vibes of the additional guests in the room just off? So many questions you can ask, but make sure you not only ASK them but GROW from them (don't just complain without creating solutions to ensure they never happen again). In the age where anyone can create, record, and distribute music from literally anywhere, you have MUCH more control of the outcome than you think.
