How do you handle questions and feedback from your listeners?

In preparing such a talk, I put myself in the listeners' seat and ask myself the questions my listeners might have. If you are a true expert in the area, almost nothing can knock you down. From there, you should practice more deliberately. What are the most obvious questions for your presentation? Do you have solid answers to all those question? Do this practice out loud, ideally in the presence of real people. You can also run the presentation through a tool like ChatGPT, and ask it to provide questions. Some of the suggestions will be nonsense, but it will almost certainly give some useful ideas.

Whenever I give talks, I always use a cheat sheet. The day before, I make sure to work through all the potential questions my audience might ask and prepare thoughtful answers for them. I focus on truly listening to each question or piece of feedback, and I make it a point to respond with respect and openness.
