You should also be sure to specify your outputs, which are the small steps you're going to take to achieve your outcomes. Outcomes can often be these big overwhelming goals, breaking them down and make them practical will increase your likelihood of success. Also make sure your goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely (aka SMART). Impact can't always be measurable, but when it can make sure you're capturing it.

2 Choose your feedback methods

There are many ways to get feedback from your community, depending on your goals, budget, and resources. Some common methods include surveys, interviews, focus groups, polls, quizzes, testimonials, reviews, ratings, comments, suggestions, or complaints. You can use online tools, such as Google Forms, SurveyMonkey, Typeform, or Qualtrics, to create and distribute surveys or polls. You can also use social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or LinkedIn, to post questions, quizzes, or polls and encourage comments or reactions. You should consider creating a consistent schedule for obtaining feedback from your community (ie. first 30/60/90 days of service). It's helpful to obtain feedback at various service points to identify trends and valuable insight regarding your communities needs. Bonus: You can also automate your feedback surveys so you never have to remember to send them! Use a tool like Zapier to make this happen.

Make sure that the questions you ask provide insights you can take action on. Broad questions like "How did you enjoy your service?" aren't sophisticated enough to provide valuable insights. Narrow your focus and ask specific questions such as "Was your service provided in a timely manner?"
