My commitment to creating a welcoming environment stems from my own experiences as a researcher, developer, and educator, where I've learned that the most groundbreaking solutions emerge from spaces where every voice is heard and valued. Whether it was leading discussions in the University of Edinburgh or fostering learning as a teacher at Code Academy, I've always strived to cultivate an atmosphere of respect, inclusivity, and support. One of the most effective ways to build trust and loyalty among your community members is to be authentic and transparent in your communication and actions. This means being honest, humble, and human in your content, showing your personality, values, and passions. The best way to build a connection and trust with your community is by being vulnerable and real in the content that you create. People want to know what makes you human. When you add components to your content that are personal, it positions you to build more meaningful relationships and makes it easy for others to approach you. Ask yourself these questions: ?? What are some of the struggles and hardships you’ve faced? ?? What did you learn from them? Think about how you can take the lessons you’ve learned throughout your life and give value to your audience by sharing them. When you can successfully create content like this, is when you will gain the trust of your community. And to me, that's the most special part of LinkedIn. ??

Most people are inspired by the level of transparency that I share about my healing journey from Depression, Stress, Divorce, etc. I say what others may be afraid to say which allows me to be relatable. It is is also encouraging to others to know that despite the challenges lessons, I came out greater on the other side. This gives hope.

In my view and from my experience providing value to others and supporting them with no expectations or agenda creates trust. Being your authentic self and adding content that provides strategies and inspiration to others, is valuable. When people follow you and trust you, its because they find value in what you have shared and want more. This builds a long term relationship and fosters trust. My social media community is one of my biggest sources of referrals. When I land a contract or partnership through one of my referrals, I make sure to thank them and treat them to lunch. Engagement is a big factor in social media, so I personally reach out to those who engage with me the most and thank them and send them a little care package occasionally.
