Choosing the right tool is so important. It should align with the goals for the communication and the outcomes you desire. This is especially true when the message or the action is critical. In the days when everyone was in the office, you were able to stand in front of the person or audience and immediately be able to read their receptivity of your message. If there was misunderstanding or lack of clarity, the questions, debate, apologies, etc. could happen real time. What I see now is too many of us trying to carry on these types of conversations via email or chat. Instead we need to pick up the phone and talk immediately and directly to each other with the goal of alignment and resolution.

It’s key to speak transparent. To be respectful and especially appreciating in online communication!!! Because there is a lack of unaware Communication Tools (eg smell or facial expressions) which helps us in an OFFLINE communication to unterstand + interpret the message. As those tools are mainly missing in online communication, we must go the extra mile! Eg by making clear statements or using Smileys ???? in order to express our feelings.
