Pre-execution, merger failure often stems from mismanaged motivations, paradoxically while initially disheartening, it can be most beneficial in the long run. Post-execution, cultural clash is a leading cause of failure. Successful mergers require strategic planning, timely execution, but also cultural alignment, effective communication, and proactive strategies.

In my experience - mergers are rarely marriages between equals - often they are acquisitions by a party of another party with different economic power.
